Aeon.
‘I have seen the sea change within a day.
I have seen it stay the same across the decades.’

“I have seen the sea change within a day. I have seen it stay the same across the decades.”
Aeon explores the connection between the landscape and time. Returning to Cornwall to live after a decade of only fleeting visits, I have been struck by how the landscape both continuously shifts and yet never seems to change. From one day to the next the sea can be stormy black or crystalline turquoise; and yet across time everything still looks so familiar.
Aeon is a collection of twenty acrylic works on canvas and paper, with paint imbibed with a few drops of sea water from Porthkidney Sands collected in the Autumn of 2020.
